Spreadsheet can't be opened

I have a numbers spreadsheet that I can't open. I was able to input it and modify it without any problems. Now it won't open.

It says, "Spreadsheet can't be opened."

Any ideas?

Thx

That *****... its only happening to the file I created not the imported xls files. I wish I was joilbroken, I could pull the file at least. If it didn't take so much time to create I wouldn't care lol. Now I have to remember the data I entered the last two times, which wont be easy. Itunes backup the files, but... since itunes has a problem with backing up on my computer, I don't have 2-4 hours to wait for it to finish... so I can't resort to restoring.

You would think the files would be synced to your computer and backuped accordingly, its yet another major oversight by Apple and a reason business won't take a device like the iPad seriously.

So export it to email... so its on my desktop then use itunes to import it?

Thank for the assistance, I don't want to have this happen again, I was only missing 3 entries this time, it could have been much worse. I use another program to put entries in as well, but I neglected it, so I pay the price for being a little lazy. Its only a pain cause of the re-entry along with formatting the document. I don't have a Mac so I don't have numbers, for the little I do with a spreadsheet it works quite well. I have Mariner Calc as well, but that is for things I need to be in xls format.

Thanks again.

I just experienced a "Spreadsheet can't be opened" blunder that was created on my iPad. Basically a budget type spreadsheet with addition, division & averaging functions. Entered large amounts of figures with numerous tabs. Nothing sophisticated. I have two documents in the Numbers App. The one I created that could not be opened and Apple's "Tap to Get Started with Numbers" which could be opened with no problems. I can't even Export, Share via iWorks or Send via email. When I attempt to export, I receive "Spreadsheet couldn't be exported. An error occurred", When I attempt to Share via iWorks, the Numbers App just shuts down and when I attempt to Send via email, I receive "An error occurred while creating the attachment". Are there any solutions in salvaging my created spreadsheet? Fingers crossed. Thanks.

Yes, this is a major BUG in the program ! It has been going on for over a year and Apple still hasn't fixed the bug. It is so disappointing that they can still sell this app when it has this CRITICAL bug in the software !! I've called Apple and left feedback on their support page. On the call, they told me all programs have BUGS - really, that's your answer after I've lost all my data to a known bug that has been around for a year !! And another response on the phone, "I get hundreds of calls and I haven't heard of this problem.". -- have you heard of GOOGLE ?? First place I checked for a solution - hundreds of complaints on this BUG for over a year now -- very sad Apple, very, very disappointing...

Any updates? I ran into this issue today with Pages, so I restored my iPad from backup. It did NOT fix the Pages issue. In fact, it ruined Numbers as well. Over 50 documents with very important data have been wiped out. These documents are no longer in iCloud, nor are they accessible from my iPhone anymore.

When these products first came out, I was like "Great! I'll never lose any of my work again!" Yeah, right... This one issue has lost more of my work than all of my previous computer problems over the last 20 years combined......
