iPod Touch Third Generation 8GB Firmware Question

What specific firmware file does this certain model have. I've had problems with it and when I try to restore it using shift+click and choose the iPod3,13.1.3_7E18Restore file which I used for my brother's Third Geberation 32GB it says not compatible or something like that. Why is that?

Your iPod Touch would use the iPod Touch Second Generation Firmware because it uses the exact same hardware as the iPod Touch Second Generation. The file you would be looking for is: iPod2,13.1.3_7E18Restore.ipsw.

I have the same problem. I have accidently upgrade my 8gb(MC) 3rd gen Ipod touch to Ipod2.1 4.0 firmware. So, how can i get back to Ipod3.1 4.0? I hv try restore to the corrct firmware but it said the same thing as above. Help?
