Blue eyes in Aperture - help!

Hi,

I recently took some photos for a Greyhound event with a Nikon D300s and a Sigma macro flash. I noticed whilst editing the batch of photos that most of the dogs had blue eyes or a blue tint in their pupils. I have absolutely no idea what caused this or how to fix it.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed in Aperture 3?

Hi...
Intriguing.... you haven't by any chance got highlight hot & cold area's turned on have you...?
In Aperture.... > View > Highlight Hot and Cold Area's... if so turn it off by de-selecting it, if it's on, the dark area's (eyes) might appear blue....

Hi Gerry,

Not the cause i'm afraid. Tried editing them in PSE 8 and i am getting the same result.

This is -- I believe -- a known effect, caused the same way as red-eye in humans.

You are going to have to selectively filter it out.

Ha...! Never mind Red Eye....Blue eye's in dogs.... perhaps feedback to Apple for a specific tool.... 😉

Yes i guess it's the dog version of red eye. Simple to fix. If the red eye tool won't do the job use the Clone Tool. Allan

Have you checked to see if the effect is there when zoomed in, or using Full Screen?
