iTunes compatibility with Windows 7

MY PROBLEM:
About two weeks ago I was able to use iTunes to purchase music and upload my cd's with no problems. This Sunday I attempted to open iTunes to upload more cds but was given some weird messages.

First when I attemped to open iTunes it asked me if I allow Apple to make changes and clicked on yes. I have never been asked this before.

Then it said "The color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic - A running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of Windows." It went on to say it was an Apple Program and "Windows will automatically change the color scheme back to Windows Aero".

Once that went away a box popped open stating "iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. For best results, turn off compatibility mode for iTunes before you open it." When I close this box iTunes then opens.

Once it is open sometimes it will allow me to upload a cd or two and then it freezes. It did none of this two weeks before.

MY ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM:

First I opened the properties and checked the compatibility. I unselected the box that was highlighted on Windows XP. This didn't help. Still getting all the messages.

Second I uploaded the newest version of iTunes. Still getting all the messages.

Third I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes a couple times and still getting all the messages.

HELP - any suggestions?
