ipad cannot discover my keyboard

Hi.
trying to sync my mac wireless bluetooth keyboard to my ipad. It just keeps searching and never connects. I tried what someone on the forum said...hold the power on the keyboard till it blinks but that did not work.
any suggestions?

If your wireless keyboard is still connected to your iPad, or if another wireless keyboard has paired with your iPad, you may find that your software keyboard does not show up when expected. Tapping the eject key on the wireless keyboard should solve the issue. If not, try these steps. If it does not appear, and ejecting your wireless keyboard does not allow the software keyboard to appear, try unpairing the device by navigating to Settings > General > Bluetooth > Forget this Device. You might also try powering down the wireless keyboard that is causing the interference. If neither of these solutions work, try disabling Bluetooth by navigating to Setting > General > Network > Bluetooth.

I just had the same problem. I found that the keyboard was pairing with my macbook pro. I turned the bluetooth off on the laptop and while the ipad was in discovery mode I turned the keyboard off by holding the power button until it shut off then turned it back on. It immediately found the keyboard and then prompted me to type a number on the keyboard and hit enter to pair it. Worked!
