AirVideo double NAT issue

So I have crap Uverse internet which they give you a box with thats a modem and wireless router in one etc. I got an airport extreme and had uverse shut off the wireless feature on there router and then hard wired my airport extreme to the router to give me a WAY better signal for all my apple products. Unfortunately however I am now getting a double nat error. I did some research and it seems that both my airport extreme and uverse router are running NAT?

I called Uverse and they said they could not turn NAT off on there 2wire boxes *as in they are not allowed to*

How do I turn it off on my airport extreme and what are the reprocussions? I have at this time two mbpros, one imac, two iphones, two touches and an iPad hooked up to my airport extreme.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In your current network configuration, you have two NAT routers in series. Since Uverse is recommending that you don't disable NAT with their provided Gateway device, you can simply disable NAT on your AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) using the AirPort Utility. Specifically, you will be reconfiguring the AEBS as a bridge.

To set up the AEBS as a bridge, either connect to the AEBS's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to one of the LAN port of the AEBS, and then, using the AirPort Utility, make these settings:

Internet - Internet Connection tab
o Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode)
o Click Update to apply the new settings.

OK, I checked that and its set to off, these are my settings:

Under Airport
Then Summary
Name of my airport extreme
Status: Normal
Serial #:
Airport ID
Ethernet ID
Wireles mode: Create a wireless network
Network name:
Wireless Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal
Channel: 1 (automatic)
wireless clients: 3
Connect using: Ethernet
iP address:

Under Internet:
Connect using : Ethernet
Connection Sharking : OFF (Bridge Mode)

whats funny is now the air video server says

"No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible device was found. Maybe you need to enable UPnP or NAT-PMP on your router? Will auto retry in 2 minutes."

It used to tell me I had a double NAT error, and I have not changed anything on the Uverse router.

Now on the Airport Extreme if I try to change to SHARE A PUBLIC IP ADDRESS (it says Select if you want this airport wireless device to shar a single IP address with wireless clients using DHCP and NAT) when I try this it says I have two issues, DCHP Beginning address and DHCP ending address.

I really appreciate your response, anymore help is greatly appreciated.
thanks

The "Connection Sharing" setting in the AirPort Utility has three options: 1) Share a public IP address, 2) Distribute a range of IP addresses, and Off (Bridge Mode). Each of these options, effectively control the NAT & DHCP services of the AirPort Extreme, as follows:

o Share a public IP address: NAT & DHCP are enabled
o Distribute a range of IP addresses: NAT is disabled, DHCP is enabled
o Off (Bridge Mode): Both NAT & DHCP are disabled

With NAT disabled, all ports on the AirPort are open, NAT-PMP (or UPnP) would have nothing to do and are not available.

So it sounds like I want the Shar a public IP address: NAT & DHCP are enabled. however when I select that I get the following problems

DHCP Beginning Address

The DHCP range you have entered conflicts with the WAN IP address of your Airport wireless device
DHCP Beginning address: 192.168.1.2

DHCP Ending address
The DHCP range you have entered conflicts with the WAN IP address of your Airport wireless device.
DHCP ending address: 192.168.1.200

Do you have some application or device on your local network that requires UPnP or NAT-PMP? Both of these are typically used by an application to "automatically" open ports on a router in order to access a counter-part application on the Internet. With the AirPort, reconfigured as a bridge, any UPnP or NAT-PMP request should pass-thru to the Uverse router so I don't know why you are getting these error message unless that router does not support these.

I got an app for my iPad and iPhone that allows you to view your vidoes streaming over your local network, this works on my system fine.

you can also remote access. This is where I am having issues.

It use to give me a double NAT error. now the error says

"No UPnP or NAT-PMP compatible device was found. Maybe you need to enable UPnP or NAT-PMP on your router? Will auto retry in 2 minutes."

The bottom line for NAT-PMP is that in order to enable it, NAT must be enabled on the AirPort. With the AirPort in bridge mode, NAT is disabled, and again, NAT-PMP will not be available.

If the application requires UPnP or NAT-PMP, then the router (with NAT enabled) must be able to support one or both of these protocols. In this case, it would be the Uverse router and where I would further investigate to resolve the error messages.
