Who is that?
Since I used TM last time before upgrading to 10.6.3 (and everything was OK), I came to the conclusion that the upgrade did something to bring up the issue.
Whatever the cause, it's something unique to your installation; that's why AppleCare (assuming that's who "A
*e support" is) didn't know about it, and there haven't been a zillion posts here about it. 10.6.3 is working fine for most users.
It's possible something went wrong with your installation of the 10.6.3 update. Download and install the "combo" update. That's a combination (thus the clever name) of all the updates to Snow Leopard since it was first released, so installing it should fix anything that's gone wrong since then, such as with one of the normal "point" updates. Info and download available at:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1017 Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.
If that doesn't help, does this happen only when you enter Time Machine via the Finder, or are the other apps affected, too? Try +AddressBook, iPhoto,+ and
Mail.
Are you sure your Time Machine drive is set up right? See #C1 in the
Troubleshooting Tip to be certain.
If none of that helps, erase the TM drive again. Exclude your System and Applications folders from TM (via TM Preferences > Options), and anything else that's large, run a backup, and see if that changes anything.
