i recently sent my ipod off for repair. apple were unable to repair it so i was sent a new one with none of my old songs on it. is there any way i can transfer all of my old music which is on itunes on my computer onto my new ipod. thanks in advance
You'll need to make an initial sync, just as you did with your old one (I hope).
iTunes will ask you to pick a name (for the iPod) and let you set the iPods update behaviour.
If you choose the auto- update, all the music in your library will automatically be copied to the iPod.
If you prefer manual update, you'll have to drag/drop the entire library onto the iPod icon in the source list.
Feel free to post back if you've got any questions or the problem remains unsolved.
this is part of the problem aswell. when i plug my ipod into the computer it displays the "do not disconnect sign" for ages and will not go away. any ideas?
Is the iPod showing in iTunes?
If it does, everthing
should be fine, you can click the eject button.
If not you'll have to format it with the Updater first.
I suppose you would have noticed, if it did.
An icon appears in the list to the left, also, the iPod usually "steals" the focus, meaning: the main view switches to the iPods contents.
As yours didn't show up, you should try the
Updater.
