Creating a virtual printer?

I'd like to print a rather large FastTrack Schedule production schedule using an HP Designjet 500 printer which is located in a remote office 150 miles away. Is there anyway to setup this device as a virtual printer on my Mac Pro and email the file to the remote office to print onsite?

Yes, it would be called *File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF*. Then email the PDF file.

But how can I be sure the PDF will use the maximum size of the Designjet 500?

Add a "fake" IPP printer in AddPrinter and use the PPD for the Designjet 500.

Can I just make up a fake IP address or is there a specific IP I should use for a non-existent printer?

A fake address like 0.0.0.0 should work. You are not sending it anywhere if you just make a PDF.
