new bonjour/new itunes= Bonjour Serviceerror in event viewer windows 7

posted this in itunes forum but the only way i can stop error from piling up in event viewer is turning off Bonjour Service from Automatic to Disabled

+the errors come in blocks of 4 (with non consecutive numbers 540-544-548-536) when i start itunes for my iphone 3gs+

this is a clean install of windows 7 professional 64 bit

never had a problem with itunes... nothing ever logged in event viewr thru xp/vista ultimat 64 bit and windows 7 until 3/31/2010 update of itunes which i never should have done... no ipad! 9.1.079 previous version 9.03 worked like a champ fast iphone backups that were like 2 minutes and now it looks as if it's freezing at times but its just going super slow like 6-8 minutes.

above message in my event viewer since i updated to this lousy release....

have had bonjour messages before but back with vista last year...new machine running solid and steadt windows 7 64 bit with a reliabilty rating from administrative tools of 10 for past months prior to this update...anyone seeing this and if so is there a fix?

first few backups took for ever on my iphone 3gs..... most go quickly again now.
don't sync too many things other than videos.

as a side note to any user who might be able to help.... i only sync "sync only checked songs and videos" in iTunes on "Summary" tab Devices>Mark's iPhone

looking in windows firewal bonjour has pretty much free reign inbound and outbound.

i use nav 2010 antivirus which unlike older versions has been great since 2009 redesign (small footprint and very little resource use) although with 12gbs ram at 1600 i don't get any issues with apps eating ram.

really would like to get to the bottom of this error as i like running a lean, mean running machine.

based on google responses i am amoung the many windows users who have had more issues with this poor apple release update than any i can remember.

so after all this is there another version of bonjour that will work with windows 7? like previous version i could install after cleaning out the new one.

still get errors!

during update i got slew of errors as it shuts stuff down and event viewer shows some as warnings but most as errors.

now after trying new itunes backups of iphones still much slower than prior to 3/31/2010 update (last one) but it at least updates.

i am not leaving bonjour service on automatic i am back to disable as errors shown as follows:

Don't have the time to immediately reply to or work on every single thread in every single forum. However, since I was subscribed to this thread, I got an email notification for your last comment. Don't especially enjoy being "guilted" into trying to help people more quickly, which was the rough effect of what you said (whether or not that's what you intended). So I'll desubscribe and leave you in peace. Good luck with your future troubleshooting efforts.

the forums dead.

if you took it personal i would suggest a thicker skin... you told me of a new version that i would have found anyways without you.... no one is guilding you in to anything...you don't have anything to add pass the thread on by... seems most others don't have an answer either.

and apple fan boys claim supremacy when in fact their softwareis no better than an of MS's offerings.

bye bye

and you probably didn't this is the worst release of anything i have ever dealt with from apple.... and i go back to 76 with pc's (trs80's from tandy) and used apple from 88 thru 92 for our shooting clubs scores on sight coutesy of the us gov as thats what they gave us.... with those old floppies like 5plus inches and really floppy 🙂

but seriously folks speak of MS in a bad light i run a lean clean machine and know my way around a box fine but no way should apple get away with their dumber than dumb support staff having soo many people delete and reinstall all this crap when in fact it's the software!

users have this issues on xp/vist /windows 7 32 and 64 bit so me thinks they have an issue and they do too otherwise there wouldn't have been such a quick re-release. they really need to check where the coding problem is as quicktime is fine.... and in my case itunes shows my iphone and does everything i need but backups are slow as molasses when they used to be 45 seconds approx. now their 5 minutes. all the while filling up event viewer with errors (not warnings) from bonjour. so i have to turn off bonjour servive from automatic to disabled.

thats a terrible work around and latest release did nothing at all... same issue. as evident in the other forums and throughout the net.... of which i believe scott finnie a respected writer of past newsletters now an apple guy is writing a report to be out shortly from what i gathered on this whole flop.

if it was MS they would be screamming for heads.... but like all things apple its kept hush-hush by the pr machine quite well.

good luck i hope your issue is resolved sooner rather than later.... i spoke with a "genius" at local apple store and felt like i was talking to dells outsourced tech support the way to my face he read a script that i would find embarrassing to say to anyone. they must think many comp users are point and clickers.

i almost spent $6k on a mac pro for my photography work a (silverado updated) choice made easier since they were too late with the i7 release thank you apple!

My Win7Pro 64 bit PC at work came out of suspend this morning with 24 of this type of event.

Task Scheduling Error: m->NextScheduledSPRetry 7971 (and other numbers)
or
Task Scheduling Error: Continuously busy for more than a second

I had applied the Apple updaters yesterday for both iTunes and MobileMe.
In total, the event viewer shows 120 events of this type of error, dating back to April 6.

Our network here at work is a little flaky. Simultaneous to this error, there was a net drive disconnect error on an open Word file, and Outlook posted a similar notification about not finding the Exchange server. (Next time I see these, I'll try to remember to check the event viewer for more Bonjour errors.)

I barely use any of the Apple software on my PC. so I'll just leave things alone.

Have you tried turning on QTTask and iTunesHelper? I usually disable these startup entries and just now when I re-enabled them, the Bonjour errors stopped. I was regularly getting about 15-30 errors every time I booted the machine.

From everything I have dealt with in the last few weeks with this software, I have realized that all of it revolves around the "normal" functioning of Quicktime. One of my OS's (Vista) was giving me problems updating the software and my sister's machine (also Vista) gave me nightmares until I sorted it out today.
