Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply
ask a new question.
No, so far the only accessories are a bluetooth keyboard, the dock keyboard and the photo transfer kit. Seems like the mouse would be a great accessory though. I am actually typing this on the dock keyboard and keep trying to reach for the mouse instead of using the touch screen.
No-one here knows what Apple will do in the future. There's no point asking that question.
Aside from that, I would seriously doubt they would allow a mouse to be used. That would require major change to the iPhone OS as the user interface is not designed for using a mouse. Why create an operating system that does not allow a mouse and then provide it later. It does not make sense.
What good is connecting to the tv then. Can't use a mouse so cant keep getting up to touch screen across room. Apple rep should have told me this before he sold me the magic mouse and tv connection kit.

But do you think that Apple will ever allow (its own) Magic Mouse to be used with the iPad, I mean, by allowing any related 3rd-party apps?
I am not sure how you'd use a mouse without a cursor. The insertion point indicator only displays within data input boxes, not around the full screen.
How do you envision the mouse working on the ipad, visually?
Did you look at the specs page? Did you ask to try it out? Did you google it? All those options would have gotten you the correct answer...one source does not constitute research..it is simply asking a question...
You seem to want Apple TV anyways...you should take the iPad back and get one of those instead...it's $229...a heck of a lot cheaper than the iPad...
I created an account just to reply to some of these negative comments. As far as asking what Apple might do in the future, it is a valid question. There might be someone out there close to the "roadmap" to know if this is coming or not. To belittle someone for wanting to know is ridiculous. As for the guy who thinks everyone should research their way into a store to by a product, that's just nonsense. The Apple stores around me are in a mall. I purchased mine without even realizing I wanted one. I walked in to look around and fell in love with the iPad. They also indicated to me I could use a mouse so I bought one. So am I stupid for not knowing I wanted one before I went to the mall? Before you answer that question, I have a Masters in Computer Science and I would have NEVER thought that an iPad would work with a bluetooth keyboard but NOT a mouse. My tablet PC can be used with touch or a mouse. Just because there is no cursor in touch mode doesn't mean they can'd add mouse support. Of course when that day comes (and I hope sooner than later) they will add the cursor, duh. Besides, there are plenty of videos out there where people ARE using their Magic Mouse with the ipad. Unfortunately, the iPad has to be "jailbraked".
So for all you people out there slamming others for asking questions, if you don't have something constructive and positive to say why don't you keep your trap shut.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
By the way, if you can't depend on iPad sales people to know their own products capabilities, what does that say about Apple's training? I for one would put more trust in a sales person who's "supposed" to know more about their product (and what's coming) than I would looking at some blog where all people like to do is bash each other. I suspect Apple would want to know if their sales people are not qualified to sell a product and offer them more training. They simply dropped the ball but not realizing that the iPad didn't support their own Magic Mouse. I've heard this from several people now so I would provide feedback to Apple so they have the opportunity to know where their training is lacking.
And for what it's worth, I'm loving my macbook pro and iPads and I'm confident Apple wants to do the right thing....by training their sales people better and.......by adding bluetooth mouse functionality to my awesome iPad.
In my opinion Apple has the best customer service aside from OnStar. I always find it difficult to believe stories about folks saying they have been misdirected into buying incompatible products. These are usually the people who blame the sales person who was supposed to read their mind and tell them they shouldn't by this or that. These are the same folks who get upset when the salesman asks them about their purchase and are defensive because the salesman dare question what the are doing with this or that.
Too insecure to ask questions, but not willing to accept the consequences for not doing so.
Apple has Internet on every Mac or iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch in the store...you could have researched there...you also could have TRIED it...I don't have a degree in computer science but I didn't need it to know that it won't work with a mouse...even on impulse buys, I research accessories before buying...and having formerly worked in retail technology sales, I can tell you that just because a person is paid to sell you something, doesn't mean they know everything they should about it...
