localized.rsrc troubles

When I open iMovie get the alert "problems with localized. rsrc plug-in". Turned off the alert but can't import (videocamera sony DCR TRV 900E).
Installed again iMovieHD without any result, then installed iMovie 3.03 (which had been used successfully until may) but the same alert appeared again.
Did anybody get to solve this problem?

Hi dandesp:

When you tried deleting the Roxio files, did you open the Application Folder / Hold the Ctrl (control) key as you click on the iMovie 3 icon/select "Show Package Contents" from the menu that drops down?
Then open the contents folder, then the Plug-ins folder (not one word, but with a dash) From the Plug-ins folder, remove the item named "Toast Video CD Export.bundle".

Hi Lennart. QT works and plays movies....

Too bad...um... I mean good, but we still haven't found the problem.

I really thought it was QT since iMovie is largely based on QT and both iMovie versions have the same sympton.

I think you need to re-install iMovie.
Move the iMovie files out from the Applications folder.
Open /Library/Receipts and delete the iMovie files there.
Re-install iMovie 5.

Hi Lennart. Thanks again!
made a few trials and found out as it follows: iMovie5 and 3.03 don't work even if I deleted all the iMovie files I could find. BUT I had an iMovie 4 on an external disk and: it works!!! both launching it from the external disk and (after being copied) from my computer.
Now I only have to understand what are the differences between the three different versions (.....).
I'll let you know....

Hi Lennart. Maybe you won't mind to know what happened to my Localized.rsrc trouble....
Well I bought the QT Mpeg2 component (for different reasons) and after installing it IMovie hd started to work properly (even if I still get the alert window at the beginning...)
Next step, I've been told to install mac os X, the new 10.4. Need to get some time to do that... Anyway, thanks again. Ciao!
