I am having problems with my iPod touch. The screen is visible but VERY VERY dim and when i go to settings - brightness and move the brightness bar up and down the brightness stays the same. I have tried the five r's recommended by apple but unsuccessful. Please help

Do you have a case that is covering part of the sensor, or is your sensor covered in some other way? If you think so, just pull off the case until your unit is functioning, then put it on again.
Post again if you noticed any change, or if the suggestion is successful.
It looks like you've tried everything you can physically can. Assuming that you're fully charged and done your reset, you - regrettably - will need to go to the Apple Store or Genius Bar to have your Touch examined by an expert. They'll evaluate your unit on the spot. If you're still under warranty, it's likely they'll issue a new Touch on the spot (assuming your model is in stock; if not, they will quote you repair times and prices.
