Time Machine makes MS Word Crash
Hello everybody,
This one is relatively weird. Whenever Time Machine starts backing up Microsoft Word hangs. Everything that you try to do in MS word simply doesn't occur until backup has finished. Then all commands you have tried to enter happen immediately! This doesn't happen to any other program. I can work happily in pages through the backup even though Word is hanged. I do not have access to all the computer at the moment, but as soon as I regain access to it, I will tell you other stuff.
Does anyone recognize this problem?
Why is word so utterly awful on Macs? (note this is a nice new machine with 4 gigs of ram! and a huge almost empty HDD and it usually runs really fast. Why won't Microsoft FIX IT!)

iMac 21.5 inch (4gb ram), Mac OS X (10.6.3), All the latest software (from apple and Microsoft)
