I have tried to hold the iPad in one hand with my thumb in front and four fingers behind. Using a little bit of pressure permits you to hold it for a bit. Unfortunately the aluminum back is very slick and kind of slippery. It would seem a better back would be to put a little texture on the surface of the aluminum back to make it less slippery. I'm sure someone will design a clear adhesive form fit cover for the back that will be less slippery.
I got this from Apple. It is thin and form fitting. The others I've seen are pretty thick. This one can even slip into the Incase sleeve albeit a tight fit.
I like the folding leather case from Incase. Very professional looking for meetings. Provides screen protection when not in use or packed for traveling. Very comfortable to hold. Can also be propped up at an angle in landscape mode.
I agree. The Zagg shield works great. It isn't as difficult to apply as others are saying. It just takes patience. I use the full body on my iPhone and it does a great job. Also, they are 100% replaceable if they get damaged. A great feature after a while when they get beat up. I personally don't want mine in a case accept maybe on a plane or to set it up to view movies or something similar.
I had the same problem. I bought the Belkin cover from the Apple store and it took care of the problem. But it does add a little more weight to the iPad.
I just bought the NewerTech cover for the back. Has a leather cover and it just pops on the back of the iPad. Now, if only my 3G would get here so I can try it!
Now you know firsthand why so many Apple aluminum Powerbooks show up on Craigslist with corner dents-they're impossible to grasp straight out of a laptop bag between two fingers.
