Reset my router password and Airport express is no longer recognized?

I'm sure I'm missing something easy. My Mac Book is able to conncect using the new password .
My router is connected to My G5 via ethernet
I've done a reset on the Express. The router is a Netgear. The password is a WPA-PSK.
Everything was working fine until I added the password. (Actually, I never had a password on the router. Thought it might be a good idea.)
I use the airport express to connect Itunes to my stereo.
I would greatly appreciate any help
Thanks
Hans

Your AirPort Express is a "client" of your Netgear wireless network, just like a computer is a "client".

If you added a password to the Negear network, the Express cannot connect now unless you reconfigure it to use the Netgear wireless network password so it can join the network.

Likewise, any other computers or clients will not be able to connect until you enter the wireless network password.

Temporarily, move the Express close to your computer and connect it to your computer using an ethernet cable.

Open AirPort Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the icons
Enter the wireless password and confirm

Once you have updated the Express with the new settings, you can disconnect the ethernet cable and move the Express back to the desired location.

+Why was I able to connect to the network with the new password wirelessly with my Macbook, but not with the Airport Express.+

Your Express had no way of knowing that you had added a password to the wireless network, so it tried to keep connecting without a password and it could not. When you gave it the updated log on information using AirPort Utility, it was then able to connect.

Try powering down both your computer and the AirPort Express. Then temporarily connect an ethernet cable from your computer to the AirPort Express and power up both devices. You can disconnect the ethernet cable once you have checked your settings or updated any changes to the device.

If AirPort Utility still cannot "see" the AirPort Express, you'll need to perform a "hard reset" on the Express and then reconfigure it again. To perform the hard reset, hold in the reset button until you see the amber light begin the blink more quickly, keep holding another second or two and then release the reset button.

Re This issue--
I recently took my AE on a trip, tried utilizing it with a friend's iMac--but couldn't get her isp info so never used it. Now back home, tried using AE as always, but all it will do is show an Apple network when network list opens--can't get it to re-open my original network as named by me. The Apple network id (which I assume is the code for my AE's basic connection ) is not "locked" and I can't find a way to eliminate it from the network list, or at least lock it. When attempting to create a new network, "Network Assistant" will not allow me. Keeps reverting to the Apple one. Also, when going into Airport Utility on my HD, will not recognize my AE--Have tried replugging everything, resetting AE with ye old paper clip--nothing works. Stumped!
