HOW TO GET RID OF DISPLAY INFO

Anytime you have an issue while running a specific third party application, send your comments to the developer (like non documented features like this one, the reverse pinch to get rid of the status bar). Once your into a third party app, it's completely up to the developer what to show and what not to, not apple.

If you are referring to the iPad system status information, I don't believe it can be turned off.

There are apps that are able to turn that off when they run (like Scrabble). So Netflix could if they wanted to also, I guess. Maybe send Netflix a note. There's no way for us users to turn it off, however.
