Overclocking Macbook Pro i7

Does anyone know how to overclock the Macbook Pro? The processor runs pretty cool. I think this bad boy can easily be overclocked.

If anyone knows where to get started. Please let me know...

Seems like I already have. I upgraded the SSD drive and Ram my self.

Not really concerned about the warranty. I just want to get this baby rocking at full speed. I would be interested in knowing how I can lock that 3.3 Turbo Boost, now that would be sweet.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Read your owner's manual. Upgrading the hard drive and RAM have no effect on your warranty because they are user-upgradeable parts. Overclocking your CPU, if you can do it, will certainly void the warranty and, I imagine, will also jeopardize the health of the machine, or at least that of its fans.

Your processor will run in Turbo at 3.3 anytime it can, so don't worry about locking it. Essentially if it's needed (CPU intensive task) and the processor isn't too hot, it'll run over clocked on it's own. If it's too hot to do so, it'll run at it's normal speed, and that's not something you'd want to override or force. But tests have shown you'll get the 3.3 speed most of the time when you need it.

Thanks guys.

@Ewww: When I tried to return a macbook pro they said they couldn't do it because I have opened the unit. I told them I installed an SSD and Memory. The genius told me that my warranty was now void. That these units weren't meant to be opened.

So what is the deal on this?

I'll take my unit right back if this is not the case.

Thanks!
