Q: immediately ejects any CD or DVD I put in the combo drive

It's never done this before. It does not even try to read it. It just immediately ejects the cd or dvd. Anyone know what I can do besides install a new optical drive?

    You could try a drive cleaning disc, but I suspect that if the drive doesn't even spin a disc a few times before ejecting it, there's a mechanical failure and the drive will need to be replaced.
