Very low sound when I connect guitar

Hello
When I connect my guitar to logic via fast track ultra I can barely hear the sound, it's so low. Instead I have to use logic plugins make it sound at normal volume. How can I get this normal?

Kind regards

My guess is you're not plugging into a Hi-Z input.

In other words, when DI recording a guitar, because the signal is naturally very quiet, a line level input is no good. Many interfaces these days have a designated Hi-Z input, so check (I'm not familiar with yours). If you don't have this option you can buy cheap units (DI Boxes) that do the job.

This should solve your problem and give you the right amount of gain.

(Again, don't rule out volcanic ash)

Hi,

The guitar signal is *no line signal* but rather a microphone level signal (kind of). Make sure you don't use the line-ins of your Interface but plug the guitar into the Instrument / Mic Input (usually the big middle hole in the Microphone input jack is used for this). Also make sure there are no PAD or LINE buttons pressed that dampen the signal. I assume you have turned gain and the volume on your guitar up to the max?
