Midi questions

Hi guys. I had a session yesterday and had a really annoying problem. I would record using an sustain pedal but playback would not have the sustain. It seems like it was not recording the sustain pedal. Not sure what is wrong and how to fix it.

Also, I see my midi in/out in the transport bar is always flashing like midi is being sent. Any ideas why?

Thanks in advance!

Check all your MIDI settings in the preferences, and check all your MIDI *project settings*.

How do you mean, "like"? What are the messages? If it is MIDI, it is not just flashing, but it is *displaying the message* . Are you looking at the right display?
Does the "flashing like" stop when you disconnect your MIDI-keyboard?

Sometimes, it just records for part of the recording but not others.

What's about the realtime sustain auditioning/monitoring while you are recording - does it appears from time to time like in "Play" mode or it is OK ?
If it interrupts during recording (in the monitoring system), then it seems to be some problem in the sustain pedal connections or its wire - something like that...
Look very carefully what messages appear in the Input View Monitor in the Click & Ports Environment layer during recording.
