categorizing Documents

Question

categorizing Documents

I am categorizing my documents by "Kind". The problem is, pdf files are listed first and I want my folders listed first, then files, all alphabetically. Thank you very much.

While that is easy to do in Windows, as Baltwo says under OS X it is not.

Hi Daisy Newcomb;

Way back in the days of Panther, I heard of system hacks that managed to do this. TTBOMK none of these were ever upgraded from Panther.

Personally my take on them was that there was not that much demand for them so that may have also contributed to their not being upgraded.

Although I do not use the application, I hear many good things about cocoatech.com's Pathfinder. Maybe this is one of the tricks it does.
