[Help] Can't Connect to LocalHost

Hi, I am in need of some help here, and would be really grateful if you can help to solve my problem.

I changed some of my settings on System Preferences > Networking, changed the DHCP to manual and inserting my own values, and inserted my own DNS Servers.

I changed them back to exactly what it looked like before after a while, and rebooted my Mac, restarted my wireless modem, and reconnected to my network.

Now, I cannot access localhost/127.0.0.1 on my Safari, it was working before I edited the settings. I am getting +"Safari can’t open the page “ http://localhost/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “localhost”."

I hope that anyone to be kind and help to solve my problem although there are no returns, you would have done a good deed. Thank you.

Best thing to edit those files is [TextWrangler|http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler>. It will allow you to open files in hidden locations and to authenticate the changes. From TextWrangler's Open Hidden… command, follow the path to the httpd.conf file. Another way to get to the file is use the Finder>Go>Go to Folder command and type /etc/apache2/.

You can turn on line numbers in TextWrangler using the dropdown in the toolbar that looks like a letter T with a light switch.

Scroll down to line 167 and make sure it looks like this
DocumentRoot "/Library/WebServer/Documents"
And, make sure that directory exists.
