URL could not be found errors suddenly occuring

Our iTunes U site has started to experience errors accessing files that previously worked okay.

Trying to download some files gives the users the error message, "The URL ... could not be found on the server".

Within each course, some files still work fine while others have started to have this issue.

Has anyone run into this issue before?

thanks,
~Leigh

We're seeing this as well. Students cannot download new files to courses they are subscribed to. This has been happening since last evening and it's critical we get this fixed. There seem to be different error messages. This is the one I am seeing -

The URL https://deimos.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/FeedEnclosure/n
could not be found on the server.

This is occurring in all our courses and by everyone who tries to download new files. Since this is a different school then the OP this may be even more extensive.

We're also seeing this problem. For us it's not limited to recent videos however. Some videos download fine while others get the "URL ... could not be found on the server" error.

For example the following downloads fine:

http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Feed/santafe.edu.1701130273.0170113 0275

However this video gives the error:

http://deimos3.apple.com/WebObjects/Core.woa/Feed/santafe.edu.1701130273.0170113 0275

We noticed the problem late yesterday afternoon.

Duncan,

I find that if I change Santa Fe Institute's URLs, using "Browse" instead of "Feed", I can get to its content without any issues. Since attymullins posted links to feeds, would it be the case that the problems Leigh et al. are experiencing have to do with folks at their respective sites who clicked the "Subscribe" button?…could it be that deimos3 has some issue rolling out RSS?

Just throwing out an idea. Could be totally whacked here in Chitown. 🙂

Thank you for all the feedback.

It appears the issue has resolved itself as of 11am EST today (huge sigh of relief!).

The files that were generating not found errors can be played/downloaded now. I should have put in the post we have our files on iTune U site not handling them via the feed method.

Since a few other university sites were experience the same type of issue, does Apple have any idea why this may have happened?
