I just got my iMac two days ago and am struggling to get to grips with the new set up. I use a Sony DCR-SR37 Handycam and when transferring the MPG files from the handset to the Mac and then into Final Cut Pro via the USB cable provided, for some reason the audio doesn't transfer along with the video.
I'm aware that this isn't a FCP problem but I was unsure where to post it. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi-
Your MPEG file is
muxed and FCP does not work with those kinds of files, so . . .
Download the free app MPEG Streamclip at
http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html and use it to convert your files into an FCP friendly format such as DV.
Thanks for your response. I downloaded the software and it does play the video files with audio which is what I wanted, however I cant figure out how to then save the new video+audio from the streamclip program into the computer so that I can put it in FCP and edit it...
The tutorial you linked goes to the one about working with DVDs, Kevin.
