Grey Songs iPhone

I recently had my hard drive replaced, and don't have a back up of my old one. While putting some data from my ipad and iphone back on, mostly apps and purchased music, i realized that all my songs on the iphone were grey and won't play. I know if i hit manually manage it tells me that it will erase all my current songs and replace them with this computer, which i don't want to do because i have more music on the phone the what i just bought from itunes and i don't want to lose it.

any way i can unlock the rest of my music?

You can only sync iTunes media from one computer. Your iPad and iPhone recognize the new HD as a new computer. Since you don't have a backup, you'll have to rely on 3rd party utilities. Think about getting a cheap external HD to keep a copy of your iTunes folder and safe yourself the hassle next failure.
