YouTube app: Subscriptions: most show no icon and zero videos

When I go to the "More" menu in the YouTube app, and tap "Subscriptions," only two of my subscriptions have icons and show in parentheses the number of videos those people have uploaded. The "New Videos" item at the top also has an icon and a number.

All the rest of my subscriptions show no icon (just the white, analog TV screen shaped pic), and no number. When I click one of these, I get "YouTube not available", and the background says "No videos." And yes, all of these people have videos up. I can see them when I go to YouTube on my computer.

Logging out and back into YouTube does not fix the problem. Nor does shutting down and rebooting the phone.

I am running the latest version of the iPhone OS -- 3.1.3 (7E18).

Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
DM

Same exact problem here, and it has persisted from OS 3.0 all the way through the 4.0b2 developer preview. To be clear, the videos themselves aren't the issue…all videos from my broken subscriptions can be searched and played, or played from the New Videos section. And I can access the subscriptions just fine from YouTube.com in Mobile Safari. But when I tap on any affected subscription in YouTube.app, the "YouTube not available" alert pops up, and no videos will be listed. Only two of my seven subscriptions are affected, and I've tried all manner of unsubscribing and resubscribing. On a call with AppleCare, the Apple rep was able to reproduce the issue on his iPad and iPhone. No solution yet.

I have access to one of the YouTube accounts that I'm subscribing to, and I don't see anything on the YouTube.com side of things that could cause this.

Actually, after talking with an AppleCare rep several times today, I followed a hunch and started poking around a little further on youtube.com. Looks like the culprit is that there's more than one way to subscribe to someone's channel. Go in and edit your subscription, and I'd bet dollars to donuts that the problematic ones are set to update you with "All videos uploaded, rated, favorited, and commented on by (nameOfChannel)." Change this setting to update you with "Only videos uploaded by (nameOfChannel)." Here's what it should look like

Excellent fix for the iPad YouTube app error. It no longer says "YouTube not available" so thanks for that idea of switching all my subscriptions to show only uploaded videos.

But I am having another problem. I think I've seen others report this too. The iPad YouTube app only shows 25 subscriptions when you check your subscriptions. I definitely have more than 25 YouTube subscriptions but only 25 are showing up in the YouTube app.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Anyone else having the same problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
