Veetle plugin - streaming live video

I have been trying to download the veetle plugin so that I can stream live video from the web. A lot of sports web sites are going to this format for what ever reason.

I have had problems downloading and installing veetle and wanted to know if anyone else has been able to use veetle to stream video.

p.s. the problems I have had are a "mounting failure" during download or once I get it downloaded and try to install it, my computer "doesn't recognize the disk image"...
