Move iPhone Backup from Old PC to New Mac

Hello--

I currently use a PC to sync my iPhone but making the change to a Mac. What's the best way to switch the iPhone backup files, applications, etc from the PC to the Mac?

Thanks!

I just went through this procedure. On your PC open itunes then select File>Library>Backup to disk.
It took me 2 dvds to back up as i dont have a ton of music. Itunes will tell you how many dvds will be required for the backup. After you are done all you have to do is load the first dvd into your drive and
you will be prompted to restore your itunes library. I am sure some of the other members here may have an easier or faster way but this worked for me.

Your computer's backup external drive should have enough storage capacity to store your entire iTunes library along with all other important data such as documents, contacts, and photos.

Copy the iTunes named folder in your Music folder to your external backup drive, or if you have a wireless network you can transfer data between the two computers via your wireless network or by networking the computers in some other fashion.

With iTunes quit on your Mac, place the iTunes named folder from your PC in your Music folder on your Mac. You will need to authorize your Mac with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.

Your iPhone's backup that is created and maintained by iTunes is not stored in the iTunes folder, and there is no need to copy this from one computer to another. ITunes on your Mac should create a new backup for your iPhone with the first sync or you can do this manually. Control-click on your iPhone under Devices in the iTunes source list and at the menu window that appears, select Back Up.
