Can I run Final Cut Pro on a Macbook?

Hello,

Can somebody tell me if it is possible to run FCP on the new Macbook 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo laptops?
Are there any reported problems?

It is possible but not recommended. The FCS specs are here.

Color and Motion won't even open but using FCP has been done. It depends on what kind of footage you plan on using. If you want to do HD you will have problems. SD should be okay.

Thanks SoCal,

I looked at the specs and it says: 'ATI or NVIDIA graphics processor ( integrated Intel graphics processors not supported)'.

According to Apples specs on the new Macbook it has a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory.

When it says 'shared' does it mean 'integrated'?

Shared or integrated means that the card uses system RAM.

Discrete is an independent card with its own RAM.

So if it is integrated Intel, it isn't supported, but usually will work for FCP. Not necessarily any other suite component.
