SD card will not eject

I am unable to eject my SD card after importing into Aperture 3. The dialog box Eject button doesn't work. Dragging the icon to the Trash doesn't work. Highlighting the icon and using right click and selecting Eject doesn't work. Going back into Import on A3 and clicking the triangle to the right of my card's name does not work. I can't think of any other way to get it to unmount from my computer so I finally just yank it off the USB port and then I get the scold about not ejecting properly. Is anyone else having this problem? What can I do to make it work again?

Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried every possible way of ejecting the card. It says that Aperture is using it. Aperture won't release it. This is something broken in Aperture 3. I should not have to quit A3 to release the card. There are too many things that A3 only stops by quitting. It won't stop the export or processing circling dashes at the bottom either. Ever. The only way I get that to stop is to quit. Come on. I want to work in A3, not keep quitting so I can move on to the next task. Is there a fix for this?

This is a bit of a long shot:

If you only recently installed Ap3 and went ahead using it, then close or sleep the machine. In this case Aperture could still be processing the installation of Ap3 as soon as it gets the chance, ie. when you boot up again. If this is so, you need to leave it running for several hours to maybe a few days. Library size & Machine spec determine how long this takes.

Could this be the problem?
