PowerMac G4 Digital Audio & Wide Screen (16/9) LCD Display - Compatible?

I posted this query on June 21, 2009:

<<I want to buy a 23" LCD wide screen monitor to use with my G4 466 Digital Audio (1/2/2001). The display Chipset Model is ATY,Rage128Pro with 16 MB of VRAM. Both the G4 and the wide screen monitor have VGA connectors.

When I look at the display resolutions in Sys Prefs I don't see a 16/9 ratio resolution listed?

Can this computer be compatible with the 16/9 monitor?>>

Just recently I purchased the 23" Monitor for use with a different Mac. To satisfy my own curiosity I connected the new monitor to my G4 and, Lo & Belold!, the monitor works beautifully, full screen, and added at least 3 16/9 resolution choices to the list in system Prefs. The monitor in question is "plug & play" but offers no instructions on using it with a Mac of any kind.

Just thought some of you might like to know this.

Per request from BDAqua:

I just installed my new 24" wide screen (16/9) monitor on my Mac G4 using a VGA to VGA cable. My G4 now supports 12 - 16/9 resolutions: 848 X 480 (60Hz), 1024 X 576 (59.9HZ), 1280 X 720 (59.9Hz), 1360 X 768 (60Hz), 1600 X 900 (59.9Hz), and 1920 X 1080 (60Hz). The sharpest, clearest resolutions are those with 60 Hz refresh rates. The 1600 X 900 has an adequate display but the other two 59.9 Hz resolutions are offensive to look at for me. Both the 23" display I tried earlier and 24" installed without a hitch of any kind.
