Hi, I found your post very helpful. But I was wondering what is the best way to go about creating a loop. Do you have to learn each drum part on a keyboard and then record the MIDI?

Is there a way to get access to simple MIDI loops that you can just plug into Logic much like the one you posted above?

I have tried learning Ultrabeat, with not much luck. Each drum kit seems to have only one loop associated with it. I do like the way that it is setup so you don't have to use the keyboard.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Aside from programming the beats manually in Ultrabeat or Logic's Hyper Editor or Piano Roll or importing your own samples / programming your own sounds in Ultrabeat, you can buy 3rd party drum libraries and instruments like DFH or EZDrummer or Stylus RMX or use the apple loops included in Logic.
