Creating Keyboard Shortcuts in Pages '09

I am wanting to create a keyboard shortcut to insert footnotes. Is this possible?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

    No, you can't assign a short cut for Footnote. It doesn't have one from the beginning.

    It's really not a problem.
    I don't like to change existing shortcuts but adding new ones is really not a problem.

    Read carefully the System's Help page dedicated to this subject .

    Welcome to the forum Bro!

    Anything that appears anywhere in an OSX menu can have a keyboard shortcut set in *System Preferences,* just make sure you name it exactly as it appears in the menu including the Caps and lower case.
