Actually I have done a GB version of the song a couple of years ago for fun when we had an English exchange student over. Pretty straightforward for the instrumental parts, of course you'll have to get the vocals right which we didn't. 🙂

You will have problems using GarageBand instructions on a Toshiba Windows based computer...

Does anyone know how to cut the additional 6 seconds off the end of every song I create in garageband that shows up when I send it to iTunes?

This is a completely unrelated question and belongs in its own thread.

However, simply move the End-of-Song Marker to the desired end point.

I assume since this is a GB forum you know about MIDI. I did a Google search for

"smells like teen spirit" .mid

And a LOT of sites came up. Here's one with about 20 different versions of the track in MIDI.

Audition by clicking. If the track sounds right, right-click and download the .MID file

Open a GB project, doesn't matter what kind

Drag the .MID file onto the GB project screen

All tracks in the MIDI file will populate.. you can get into Track Info for each track and substitute a better sound, if possible.

having the song in MIDI means you can isolate parts, view them in notation format, change tempo without changing pitch, and/or transpose any of the parts.. use Cycle Region and learn it a few bars at a time.

There's MIDI files out there you can use, just try a Google search - you can import them into GarageBand quite easily.
