Headphone jack in iPod Classic not working

Hello all,
I have a 2nd Gen Classic 80GB and my headphone jack suddenly stopped sending sound to the left side of whatever I plug into it. Now, I know that it is the unit itself. I am obviously WAY out of my warranty so getting it replaced is out of the question. I would like to know 2 things. First, can the jack itself be fixed? If so, does anyone know the approximate cost of replacement?

Second, is there a set of AUX cables that have the Red and White males (to plug into car aux, for example) that plugs into the bottom of the ipod, rather than the headphone jack? If so, then where can I find them?

The sound from the unit works fine when I attach to a dock player.
