how to connect imac to tv?

Hello All!

I was wondering how to connect the imac 27in i5 to my hdtv. does apple offer a HDMI adapter?

Yes you will need 3 connectors. First is a MiniDisplay port to HDMI to HDMI, then a HDMI cable cable and finally an audio cable because the Mini Display port only outputs video, not audio. The links I've provided are examples of the connections needed.

Hello I believe I'm attempting the same thing, and have a few further questions. Specifically this is for connecting a 27" iMac to a Samsung 46" tv.

I thought I had the video portion down when I bought this cord:

I still think that may be the right cord. It connects fine to this Apple adaptor cord that came with the computer... I have two of them in fact. However the smaller end of the cord is not the same as what is on this Apple adaptor cord:

I think is the one I used, it has all the pins inside the little end.
