Is the iPad cable the same as the iPhone cable?

Is the connecting cable that comes with the iPad the same one used by the iPhone and iPod. I have a cable already connected to the back of my computer and I'd rather not have to disconnect it to add another for the iPad. BTW, getting the 3G iPad by 3:00pm today!

Yes, it's the same cable, so you can use the one you already have.

Congratulations on your coming iPad. It will be love at first sight! Just to say that although the cables are the same, the rechargers are not. You need to use the recharger that comes with the iPad as the iPhone's will really slow the process down to a crawl. Also, a USB recharge of the iPad will be painfully slow as well (won't work at all if the iPad is on). Not enuf juice.
