best stand that can fit ipad (w/apple case) in portrait AND landscape?

what's the best stand out there that can fit the ipad with the apple case on, and allow you to position the ipad (and case) in portrait AND landscape modes, while still being able to have the charger connected?

so far, the only one i've seen, is the Griffin A-Frame Stand:

but i don't particularly like the style and the price ($50).

are there any other suggestions? thanks in advance?

I ended up getting a picture frame holder at a hobby store--$3. It is perfect for overnight charging and using the iPad as a clock. Not quite as sturdy as some of the other stuff on the market, but it is portable and cheap. Works for me!

I like mine to be horizontal so the web font is larger. I figured out that medium picture frame easles fit perfect. I have mine on a neat little stand / easle and the darn thing looks like one of those electronic picture frames. Almost decorative instead of business like.

Cheap and works great. My only semi-complaint is that I have to turn it upside down in order to plug the cable into it in portrait mode (which really isn't a big deal since I usually have it in landscape anyway).

I saw a guy on a plane with one: a simple curve (probably plastic) with a couple of notches to hold the iPad either in portrait or landscape. It was about the size and shape of a man's large comb. My guess is that it lays flat to slip into the case. Anybody seen one?

Front to back; as though the St. Louis Arch fell forward, with the open end facing back. There were a couple of notches to hold the iPad. You may be right about a brochure holder; I'll check it out. Thanks for your help with this--the future of our nation is at stake 🙂

Robert, I think I know exactly what stand you saw. You can't buy it by itself. It comes as a bonus with a neoprene case that the apple store used to sell, but apparently doesn't anymore. It is a flat piece of plastic with 2 notches for the ipad and you bend it into a curve. I wish I could remember the name of the case. I will post back if I remember it.

I bought the Griffin a frame stand and love it. However, I do not take ti with me very often (it's heavy). As for the item enclosed with the incase, I tossed mine as soon as I got it since I had read where someone ended up with a damaged iPad after it collapsed. (I had also checked office supply stores and stores for dish and photo holders but most of the times were flimsy.)

I also was looking for something like a simple stand that you can put the iPad into. Guess what I came up with? A simple stand for holding and showing decorated plates that I got in an antique store! Cost: $2.00. It is wooden, painted flat black and is very rugged with two hinges that allow it to fold away easily in my case.

No, I saw that one at the Apple Store. The one I'm looking for is thinner and lighter than that; pretty much a single piece of dark gray plastic, maybe two inches by eight, bent into a curve.

A sideways curve, or a front to back one? A lot of people use the biz card and brochure holders from office stores. Could it have been something like that?
