Hi, it says in the processes list in my Activity Monitor window that there is a process which is currently inactive called 'disnoted', run by the user Daemon. What is this? I have no other users set up on my Mac and have pretty much the standard programs that came with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From a cursory google search for *distnote mac*, we find, among other things:

+distnoted — Distributed notification daemon. Do not touch. If you do, random things will go wonky on your system.+
