Problem logging in to eDofE

Hi there. I can't log in to the eDofE Duke of Edinburgh Scheme website on my Mac using Safari. I can do it fine on my PC using Windows Explorer. The DofE people say that they have tested eDofE on Macs and it runs OK

To access the site on my PC I go to the main Duke of Edinburgh public site then type in my user name and password into the eDofE log-in panel. Then hit Sign In (return doesn't work) and hey presto the secure page loads

On my Mac I can get to the public page fine and the log-in panel opens. I then type in my username and password and hit Sign-In and all that happens is the log-in panel clears and the public home page reloads.

In Safari Preferences I have plug-ins, Java and JavaScript enabled and 'block pop-up windows' disabled.

Any thoughts?

Without sign-in access it's impossible to tell on this end in this instance how Safari functions.. However, perhaps Firefox 3.6.3 is a viable alternative? Give it a try and let us know if that works.

I've installed Firefox on my Mac now and eDofE runs fine on that, so it must be an issue with Safari. Not a big issue now; I'll just have to switch to Firefox for DofE stuff

Hi

Glad to hear that works for you.

You can also import your Safari bookmarks into Firefox. With Firefox open, go to the File Menu and select the import command. It's pretty straight forward from there as you'll be prompted about which parts of your Safari setup you want to import (bookmarks, cookies, passwords etc.).

I use eDofE and use Firefox on the Mac with no problem... Saying that, I just tried getting in with Safari and there were no problems. I know it's been extensively tested on a huge range of machines, OSs and browsers so guess it must be an issue with your setup... sorry I can't actually help!

Hiya
I reported it to the DofE and they fixed it straight away - there was a minor hiccup in the programming from their website when they upgraded it last week. You could always log into eDofE, however, via www.eDofE.org on Safari. Anyway - hats off to them as they mended it immediately!
