Prepaid credit card

Does anyone know if a Prepaid Credit Card would work with an iPad 3G?
The AT&T plan would be great for foreign travellers to the US who would normally be hit with huge data charges from their home country cellular company. As an example O2 UK charge approx $10 per MB of data.

I've read conflicting information.
This is very relevant to me.
I travel internationally regularly.
I will be in the US several times over the next couple of months.

I want to buy an iPad when I hit FL on Monday - and sign up to unlimited AT&T - as it is cheaper than all the hotels ADSL rates! Then I can use use my AT&T card when I return to CA, and NY!

I've read though - some pre paid work - others don't...
as early indications were that they were matching credit card billing address to the address being entered in the activation address.

International credit cards weren't working...
pre paid credit cards are address free and weren't working...

but now?
are they just checking "service address" not billing address or credit card address?
Can anyone confirm this?

From all I have read, it seems they are validating entered address with coverage area, not billing address.

The reason I say this is because many posters said they entered a friend's address from a coverage area, then after it was approved, they edited the address to their real address.

I am not sure about the prepaid credit card.....

I am canadian. I have a us credit card, but billing address is my canadian address. I was in Chicago this week. I tried to purchase AT&T 3G plan with my US credit card at the hotel. The IPAD form required a billing address and a service address. The billing address must match the credit card info. I could not enter my province or Canadian postal code. I could enter the hotel service address. Therefore I was unable to purchase the plan. Next trip I will try using a prepaid visa that does not have a care about the billing address. I should have tried setting both the service and billing address to that of the hotel but I just did not think of it.
