Video cover art not synching correctly

When I sync movies to the iPad, the video cover art is often incorrect. Sometimes the iPad has it right (that is, it's the same artwork as shows up in iTunes), but other times it uses random cover art from other movies. Makes things quite confusing. Any idea what is happening here and how to fix it? Thanks for any help!

Ditto. To go a step further, I manually put some stills onto various movies, and the CURRENT one always worked. However, when I 'fixed/updated" another video, the previous one returned synced with (again) random artwork.. From other movies in my library.

2 notes about my situation:
1) This is not happening to store bought movies... Only home ones I've created.
2) ALL movies show up correctly in my iTUNES library AND sync perfectly with Apple TV.

Clearly.. APPLE... This is an iPAD hardware issue.

Hi All,

I am having the same issue with my video syncing. I have played around a bit and found that the artwork changes on the last video I have watched or am in the process of watching. I have also found that it is changed to the artwork of the last thing synced to my iPad.

For example, I am watching 'Shooter' at the moment. When I put it on this afternoon, it had the artwork I assigned to it in iTunes. This evening, I added the fourth series of 'Coupling' to my iPad and now the film 'Shooter' has the 'Coupling' artwork.

I tried this out with various video and music files and found that whatever is last added to the iPad, the artwork is assigned to the video I am currently watching. It doesn't however work the other way round, music artwork is not replaced when something else is added to the iPad during playback.

All artwork stays correct in iTunes regardless of what is put on, or taken off of the iPad.

All artwork for my films is added manually on iTunes via the 'Get Info' menu, with pictures lifted from Google.

Hello,

got a simular issue with my iPad. Most of the movies have cover art but a few are without cover art. Instead there is a white space, showing a computer - thats all.

I can play the movies without any problems but the cover art is still gone. Also strange: 10 episodes of a tv show, 8 with cover art, 2 without!

For syncing I use a Windows XP PC and iTunes!

Any help from Apple side?

When accessing movies using the movie app on iPad and the movie thumbnail doesn't match, go to general setting on the ipad > movie > and logout (or enter the wrong password so that it logs off) of sharing, then log back in. It will refresh all your music and movie thumbnails to match the movies you share using your home network. All credit goes to the person that posted this fix via the link above.

Not sure yet if it has to be done again after new movies are added, but it's an easy short-term fix and works better then pulling your hair out.

I'd like to give this issue a bump too! I have the same problem - it applies to all my movies, bought from iTunes AND personal ones. AND all my TV shows, all bought from iTunes. The cover art is correct on iTunes, but not on my iPad. I've tried deleting all the media and reloading it onto my iPad, but that doesn't help at all. The new cover art for all the videos is different afterwards, but still random - and still not correct. Any help, Apple? Please?

It sounds as if I had the same problem, which bugged the **** out of me, until about 10 minutes ago. I mucked around for ages with iPad and iPhone with some success before they would reset themselves to some odd settings i.e. artwork not matching correct album, couldn't delete songs from iPhone etc.! Very frustrating.

So tonight I did the following:

1. I have Homesharing turned ON as i use iPad/iPhone as a remote;

2. on iPad and/or iPhone make sure that the device(s) is signed into your Home Share - appleID is completed in "Settings"/"Music";

3. on iPad go to Music (orange icon, not in Settings) and press "More" then "Shared" and choose your host machine's library and NOT "My iPad". Same for iPhone too.

Hope that helps,

Matt

Having same issue with artwork. Noticed it when I rented a film from iTunes. The album artwork of an album synced onto my iPad was used instead of the correct artwork for the rented film. After trying to synce films I own onto the iPad - all the films use artwork of albums that are synced on iPad.

I tried the steps AppMatt used, but that did not solve my issue.

Just updated to 6.1.2 and still having same issue.
