Transfering documents from an Apple Server

I have an iPad, which I use primarily at home. I also have Pages for the iPad. I would like to be able to transfer pages and PDF documents to and from my office from a volume on the server (an Apple Server running 10.58.) Is their any way to connect to the server via Appleshare?

I am currently able to do so with a Macintosh, so the correct ports are open, login ID available to me, password is correct. But what application can I use to access the server? FTP is not an option for security purposes.
