How to create an icon for a document / PDF on home screen

Good day,

I'd like to create a shortcut Icon on my iPhone homescreen for a PDF document (which was sent to me by email). Is this anyhow possible?

The present OS only allows you to put site bookmarks on your home screen for quick access to your favorite sites. Apple would have to add the capability to do what you want. You can suggest such here:
