I cannot get videos from my digital camera (sony dsc-W80) to upload to my Macbook. When I try to upload them into iphoto with my photos, I get an error message and then nothing (not even the photos) get downloaded. If I pick out the just the photos, it uploads fine. When I try upload the movies in quicktime or imovie, I get the following message:
The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off
Any suggestions? Or is there something obvious I'm missing?
Hi Larry,
Thanks for your response. When I try to upload using image capture, I get the same error message about the drive being ejected. I don't know if this is an issue caused by the type of movie file (.mpg) or my macbook itself.
Hi Keith,
No I haven't tried a card reader, but maybe I should. I'm confused though because the photos upload from my memory card just fine. It's just the videos.
I have the same problem with my DSC-W55. I just bought a new i7 MacBook Pro and iPhoto has the same problem. It disconnects the camera and complains it wasn't properly disconnected and doesn't import all pictures.
I managed to use the Image Capture app to import them to a folder I created on the desktop. Then I imported them into iPhoto as normal. That worked fine. Image Capture failed to import them into iPhoto with the same error.
No, I've never reformatted the card. I use a PC for work, so I dl-ed the videos to the PC, put them on a zip drive and then moved the files from the zip to my mac. I guess if that's how I have to do it, I will. It's just a bit frustrating.
