Selling books in iBooks
Does anyone know if this will change soon? It seems silly for iTunes to offer indie music but iBooks to be all corporatocracy.
From what I'm reading, there is no physical way for an author to self-publish in iBooks, except thru a vanity press.
Does anyone know if this will change soon?
If you are still interested, there is a new application out that will allow this - iBooks Author - available for free from the Mac App store. It requires OS X 10.7.2 or later.
Best of luck.
When you publish an ibook are they all free or can you set your own price? Thanks!
The Help system on iBooks Author seems to imply you can either distribute the book for free or sell it. How the price is set I do not know.

If you want to sell it you have to do it via the iBookstore:
Interesting and correct. Is the restriction on where works may be sold part of a license agreement? I have not been able to find such.
Thanks.
