Ipad Bluetooth Pairing Issue

Just got a small generic bluetooth keyboard, but it won't pair with the ipad.

From the specs, this keyboard should work fine...
Bluetooth V2.0
Profile support: Human Input Device
Frequency: 2.4 - 2.4835 GHz ISM Baud 79 Channels Freq. Hopping
Output Power: 0 dBm (class 2)
Sensitivity: -76 dBm (typical)
Modulation: GFSK
Distance: 10 m (Max)
Battery: 2 x AAA
Agency Approval: FCC/CE /BQB(module

When I try to pair with the Ipad, it prompts me to enter the code, then a second or two later, it says that it could not pair the device. I've tried this repeatedly (even typing the number quickly, as well as after the error pops up, to no avail).

I tested the keyboard with my Macbook and no issues.

I've powered down the Ipad and keyboard several times. Also, deleted and turned off the bluetooth connection with my MAC (just did this to test that the keyboard was in fact working).

Has anyone else had any issues like this? Any ideas? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Macbook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iphone, ipad
