To the best of my knowledge, there is at this time no way you can take control of or view the screen of your iPad from your computer, presuming that is indeed what you're hoping to do. It's quite probably not even possible in the current OS since third-party apps cannot run in the background, something which would be necessary for any useful control ability. Perhaps in the upcoming OS 4.0 it will be possible; we'll have to wait and see.

The only application I currently use to connect my Mac to the iPad is Air Sharing HD. It lets me upload files to my iPad, and lets my iPad browse the folders and transfer files from my Mac. It also supports printing to shared printers on my Mac network.

I downloaded Go To My PC and I can see my MacAir screen on my iPad, but I can't do anything with it. I wrote to customer support and they informed me that they didn't support the iPad at this time. They hope to in the future.

I've been using Ignition from LogMeIn for the iPhone and now for iPad, works like a charm. It was the driving reason to cave and get an iPhone.
