Problem with Microsoft Silverlight Plug-in on administrative account
I've tried installing, uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft Silverlight onto my administrative account on my Macbook and it doesn't seem to work. However, when I started a new test account and installed Silverlight, it worked perfectly. Any ideas to why my administrative account won't let me install this plug-in?
Silverlight is a browser plug-in that could possibly be in conflict with an existing browser plugin that you have installed under your user account. Most browser plug-ins are user specific, not system. This would also explain why a new user account is able to install and use Silverlight.
Have you tried removing all of your current, admin account, plug-ins and attempting the reinstallation?
I have the same problem, I think. I migrated to my new MacBook Pro yesterday and it won't run Netflix instant play. I get error code N8156-6013 that I have an internet problem. My husband bought an identical machine and his works. All I could find is that he had an earlier version of Silverlight. I updated mine even further to see if the version I had was just incompatible - and still no go.
Any great ideas? I would happily uninstall plugins, but I don't know which to try and how to get them back if I need them!
